Discovering the Southeast

Hi! I’m Cass, a Biomedical Sciences PhD student who is an amateur yet avid hiker and camper. My husband and I started hiking and camping in college, and what was once a fun date idea turned into our routine escapes from the real world. There’s something incredibly refreshing about immersing ourselves in nature and leaving our worries behind.

I’m by no means an expert, but I’ve learned a lot along the way and want to share my honest opinions and tips with fellow outdoor enthusiasts. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just starting out, I hope to inspire you to spend more time in the great outdoors.

On this blog, you can expect to find:

  • Reviews of hiking trails in the Southeast
  • Tips for tent camping for beginners and more experienced campers alike
  • Small town spotlights
  • Gear recommendations based on my own experiences
  • Stories and photos from my adventures

I’m particularly fond of the mountains and have a soft spot for cozy campfires under the stars. Let’s explore the beauty of the Southeast together!

Let me know what you think, and feel free to ask any further questions!
